Where empowerment and athleticism come together and the streets of Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban resemble a “Sea of Pink” in celebration of Women’s Month! The Totalsports Women’s Race creates an unforgettable experience for women of all ages and backgrounds. As we lace up our running shoes and hit the pavement, we embark on a journey that transcends mere competition, celebrating the strength, resilience, and camaraderie that define the essence of womanhood.
The month of August will see over 30 000 runners and walkers join forces in solidarity to celebrate National Women’s Month at the iconic Totalsports Women’s Race!
Celebrating all women – mothers, daughters, sisters and aunts, the Totalsports Women’s Race launched in the Western Cape in 2001. In 2007 the event expanded to Johannesburg, before heading to Durban in 2011 making it SA’s largest Nationwide Women’s Day Celebration.

Each year runners and walkers of all ages are treated to a 10km or 5km route that highlights the splendour of its host city, while featuring entertainment (in the finish village) that is second to none.
Charity support is an important pillar of the event, with the Totalsports Women’s Race proudly supporting PinkDrive for many years. A Non-Profit Company (NPC), PinkDrive is committed to improving breast cancer awareness, education, and providing and offering free services to the medically uninsured across South Africa. PinkDrive will be present at each event (Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town) offering FREE clinical breast examinations and educating on the importance of self- breast examinations.
